Ask

Ask someone to prove who they are.

Send them a link. They choose what to show you.

Their side

The person you ask can say no.

Nothing is shared unless they pick it.

  • Opens in any browser. No app.
  • Saying no is a normal answer

Right now

Ask to see they’re really there.

They do a live check. You see it passed just now.

  • Or ask for photos that are really them

Details

More about asking.

What can I ask someone to confirm?

That they’re a real person. That their government ID is verified. That they’re over 18. That their phone or email is theirs. That a social account is theirs. Where they’re based. That they’re there right now. That their photos are really them. That the name they gave you is theirs.

Do they need the app?

No. The link opens in any browser.

Can they say no?

Yes. Declining is a normal answer. Nothing is shared until the person answering picks it.

How long does a request last?

Fourteen days. After that the link stops working.

Can I cancel a request?

Yes, any time. The link stops working at once.

Do I see their documents?

No. You see the result of each check they chose to share. Never their ID.

What does checking a name tell me?

Whether the name they gave you is the name on their ID. You get a yes or a no, never their document.

What is revealing together?

You each offer the name on your ID, where you are, or both. Neither of you sees the other’s until you both agree, and both open at the same moment. If nobody answers, the offer ends after seven days.

Is it free?

Asking is free, and answering is free.

Ask before you meet, pay or hire.
